Meet Katja Nielsen

We live in uncertain times. We need to prepare for adversity to feel stronger and be happier.

Katja Nielsen

My name is Katja Nielsen. I founded Nordique Touch in 2019 after a decade in the public sector working as a change and project manager.

My mission has always been to make a difference to the lives of others and I initially believed that this meant turning up for work every day and dedicating myself to delivering projects designed to change local communities for the better.

But after more than 10 years working for a large organisation, I understood that to really change a life, you need to give someone your full attention and truly listen. Something that there’s never ever time for when you work in a corporate environment. As soon as you’ve finished one project, you move on to the next. You work like that for years and in the end, you can barely breathe.

I saw a coach to discuss my challenges. Her question to me was simple: what it is that you really want?

Do YOU know what you really want?

For me the answer was to get off the hamster wheel and start doing something much more meaningful with my life.

Coaching was a natural next step. I retrained and made the leap into self-employment.

I am now a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Coach trained by the International Society of Coaching Psychology, recognised by the British Psychological Society which promotes excellence in psychology and psychotherapy.

I am a member of the British Association for Coaching and I have over 100 hours of coaching experience supporting hard working professionals suffering from stress and burnout.

With a Primary Certificate in Stress Management from ISCP and a Certificate in Stress and Resilience from the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy, I draw on a range of techniques to promote better mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Here are a few things that I’ve learnt about stress and resilience:

  • Trying to control the uncontrollable leads to endless suffering
  • Living without a personal stress management strategy is a big mistake
  • Constant change is the new normal. Always be prepared
  • Resilience is a skill. It can be learnt

If you want to know how resilience is build and a stress-proof mindset is developed, you’ve come to the right place.

I not only work with individuals. I also deliver stress management and resilience training to organisations that care about employee mental health

I’m a master facilitator with the Virtual Coffeehouse and deliver experiential workshops, bite-size coaching and behavioural games that are guaranteed to unlock employee creativity and innovation.

If you’ve landed on this page, I think it’s time for us to meet?
